Katabasis for ManuManuRiforesta at Visioni del Sud
Creative Direction / Photography / Retouching
Inspired by a meeting with ManuManu Riforesta! NGO, the Katábasis project is an evolving visual investigation, a symbolic journey to the sites of an unimaginable ecological catastrophe. It is a slow plunge into the abysses of reality to find oneself among the rubble of our landscape, in front of the skeletons of what now belongs to the world of memory. There is a word that expresses all this, it is 'catabasis' which means descent into the underworld. An interior experience that opens up possibilities for a reverse movement, 'anabasis', an ascending motion. Immersing oneself in the sepulchre of disaster and then rising again. Snapshots of an unstoppable hell that give back to the humans a power of action, looking for, in the burnt earth, a dialogue with the fertile soul, to awaken the desire of change, of rebirth. Curated by Francesco Maggiore

Piranhas for Pavlov's dog gallery

The source of this pollution comes from external forces, symbolizing the destructive impact of human actions on the environment, confronting our role as ecological predators towards nature.
Rive Lontane at Farm Festival
Creative Direction / Photography / Retouching
Accidentally born during an holiday, facing firsthand the arrival of hundreds of migrants saved by the sea, this work try to resonate the song “Summer on a spiaggia affollata” by Iosonouncane that accompanied those days. The lyrics speak about the indifference by parts of the Italian population to the death of those who never landed on the Italian coasts, the same indifference that makes a freeze of time in an inhuman inaction. These images were taken in Sicily and were forcibly interpreted in post-production to reproduce that 'pleasant' feeling discovered in a beautiful Sicilian summer.

All the prints were sold in one day and the entire the entire profit were donated. The project is still in development.
Pangea Cuts
Photography / Retouching
190 million years ago everywhere was Pangea. During Jurassic and Cretaceous the Tethys Ocean was covering those seabeds that now are the summits of the Alps. In these pictures I respectfully forced the hidden colours of those rocks that are the result of a tectonic battle between Laurasia (Europe) and Gondwana (Africa). Here the Haut de Cry, where the movements of the tectonic plates overthrown in certain areas in a way that the top stratifications are older than those below. The way that the earth’s crust moved in a million of years is almost incredible. It’s interesting to know that in certain areas of Monte Cervino (the Matterhorn) and the Dent-Blanche (Switzerland), around 1000m of African Gneiss rocks, make up the summits of these European mountains. Thanks to Antoine Ducray for the adventure and the knowledge.
